Whether you've just moved in, lost a set of keys, ended a tenancy or had a lock start sticking, changing the lock is quick, affordable and gives you back full control of who can get in.

Move into a new home and you have no idea how many keys are in circulation — previous owners, tradespeople, family, old tenants. Changing the cylinder on day one is the cheapest peace of mind you'll ever buy.
Other clear triggers: keys lost or stolen, a relationship or tenancy ending, a break-in or attempted break-in, a key that has started to need jiggling, or an insurer telling you your door does not meet British Standard.
Lock snapping is still one of the most common ways uPVC and composite doors are attacked in South Wales. A standard euro cylinder can be snapped in seconds with basic tools. A TS007 3-star or Sold Secure Diamond cylinder is built with sacrificial sections so the outer part breaks away and the lock stays secure.
If your cylinder currently sticks out more than a couple of millimetres past the handle, it's an easy target. I can measure it and fit a correctly sized anti-snap replacement the same visit.
Most home insurance policies require a BS3621 five-lever mortice deadlock on final exit timber doors. If yours isn't marked with the British Standard kitemark, a claim can be disputed. I fit kitemarked locks that meet the requirement and can point out the marking so you can note it for your policy.
Usually yes. On uPVC and composite doors the euro cylinder can be swapped on its own, which is far cheaper than a full multipoint gearbox. I'll only replace the mechanism if the gearbox itself has failed.
Yes — keyed-alike cylinders mean one key opens your front, back and garage doors. It's a popular upgrade and costs very little extra when done at the same time.
I carry a stock of quality cylinders, mortice locks and nightlatches in the van, so most jobs are completed in a single visit.
I'd always recommend it. You have no way of knowing how many keys exist for a property you've just bought or rented, and a cylinder change is a small cost for complete control.
