Doors get all the attention, but ground-floor windows, patio doors and side gates are where a lot of properties are genuinely weakest. A short assessment usually finds two or three cheap fixes that make a real difference.

Most policies specify key-operated locks on all accessible windows — typically anything at ground level or reachable from a flat roof, garage or garden wall. If yours are handle-only, you may not be covered for a claim through that window.
I walk the property as somebody trying to get in would: which door is out of sight of the road, which window is left on the vent latch, whether the side gate is lockable, whether the cylinder sticks out far enough to grip.
You get a straight list of what I'd fix, in priority order, with rough costs — and what I'd leave alone. Plenty of it costs nothing but a change of habit.
Usually only where they're accessible — above a flat roof, extension, garage or conservatory. Your policy wording will use the phrase 'accessible windows'; I'm happy to advise on which of yours count.
